With all the launch of the new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 has been an exilerating year for gadget fans. Across the world, folks are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create photos and videos of themselves zipping around for this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears to be a board which has a wheel on either sides.
A mix of a skateboard plus a segway, this mini Segway (without the handle) type thing is blowing up in popularity, fuelled to some extent from the level of celebrities that have been seen on one. From Justin Bieber to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand at this nifty little gadget, and appear to get stood a large amount of fun this.
Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (as a result of it’s likeness to the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) we are really not sure entirely where this kind of self balance scooter descends from or who invented the 1st. Probably it descends from some factory in China. The 1st glimpses we had from it on television were something known as the IO Hawk, a scooter that costs an astonishing $1800. This became back January of 2015. Subsequently many cheaper versions of the same product came available on the market as well as the average price right now seems to be around $500.
What makes it work? Basically you ascend to both the panels and shift one’s body weight slightly forward or slightly back and it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. Additionally, it may turn left or right. This self balance scooter is becoming quite popular it’s actually being touted because the personal mobility device for the future. Who would like to walk when you’re able to glide, right? Plus it’s a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
