Saturday’s “To Do” list commences with Visit Yard sales!
Planning my route a night before, testing my gps on my cell phone and circling the garage sale listings from the paper can be a Friday night ritual.
The neighborhood My home is in is a “Planned Community”. That means it is pre-planned and strategically outlined. It is split into Sections and each section is represented by instructions. The “P” section contains streets beginning from the letter P: Perkins, Parking, Parkins, Penny. You get the drift! In the P section, there are numerous retirees and young professionals. The W section is considered the rich and ritzy division of town Then a B section is older but, more rundown. storage auctions is full of young couples with children. The S Section is south of town and considered in the boondocks even though the lots are larger also it feels more country. Lastly, the C Section is the place the canals, intracoastal, boats, boats and much more boaters live. Each section possesses his own characteristics and community. Despite the fact that we all have been section of the larger town, these “sections” develop over town to draw in a particular ambience. The spot with many different children have 2 elementary schools and sidewalks throughout. The “Country” a part of town doesn’t have any street lights which is from the beaten track from your remainder of town. But, the town in general has regulations and rules and laws that we all make an effort to abide.
We have been allowed Two yard sales a year. We have been needed to get a $5 permit for each of such sales and our signage is found and destroyed by noon on Saturday mornings. It isn’t a conducive atmosphere for any Garage Sale Business from your own home!
Many people have ignored every one of the rules, communicated using neighbors with regards to their needs and plans and produce a fairly good living donning the yard sale event monthly! But when they get caught disobeying the principles, they feign innocence for the rules and promise never to repeat the process! But, a couple weeks later when everything has calmed backpedal, there will probably suddenly be another yard sale! Many people locally could care less and life continues on!
About the Wednesday prior to Friday/Saturday Yard sale rush, a long list of all sales happens inside our local shopping guide, The Pennysaver. People list their address, time and date of sale plus a handful of “hook” goods that will attract the throngs of super sale seekers. I faithfully pour within the Pennysaver dividing the sale addresses into town’s sections and plot my Saturday journey!
I leave to the sales until around 11am since the majority of these sales end by 1 or 2pm. Therefore, once I buy for the sale, the folks you will need to sell off all of the their stuff for virtually every price you are offering them. Because i am NEVER searching for anything in particular… just real deals, I’ve been capable of purchase (without negotiation) entire rooms of furniture, enormous collections of old china and enough fabric to stitch clothes for any third world nation! And that i got it for approximately $5!!! I’ve a weekly budget of around $20 for rummage sales and only maybe once or twice have I ever reviewed that quantity!!!
So, for this weekend, We are plotting out about 10 sales in a 10 mile variety of home. I am going to leave at 11 am and be back by 3pm and that i know….A corner seat with the car will likely be LOADED!!!!
Oh! And Happy Junquin’!!!
