How weddings have changed on the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.

Speaking of rogues, wedding speeches are still an important part of being married and guests do enjoy hearing them, referring to them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.

We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, throughout the meal after the meal, yet it’s of a strong opinion the father of the groom speech ought to be delivered following your meal. I know that for most bridal party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father from the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they might prefer to contain the wedding speeches before the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (a number of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and just how many of them (as wll as the wedding venue staff) would choose the wedding speeches to get delivered following the meal for several reasons, a few of which include:

The invited guests are already fed and watered and aren’t hearing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which will be so ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches ahead of the meal and their might be a delay of Quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy always keeping food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches become the transition from the meal towards the dancing (without a penny happening following your meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared about the Bride & Groom and they do know they are able to stand up, maneuver around, take a rest, take a stroll, navigate to the bar…)
It’s not easy for parents from the Bride & Groom to talk in public areas, as most of them wouldn’t be used than it. So, they might, when they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.

There should still be some kind of formal wedding speech(es) following the meal…
