How weddings have changed over the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about the latter, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of a married relationship and guests do look ahead to hearing them, discussing them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of groom speech delivered before the meal, through the meal after the meal, yet it’s of your strong opinion that the wedding speeches needs to be delivered as soon as the meal. I realize that for a lot of marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father in the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the five main speakers), they would choose to hold the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and how a lot of them (and indeed the wedding ceremony venue staff) would choose the wedding ceremony speeches to be delivered after the meal for most reasons, most of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which could be the case ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival at the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches prior to the meal in addition to their could be a delay of A quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving your kitchen staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches become the transition from your meal to the dancing (broke and alone happening after the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to be shared regarding the Bride & Groom after which they understand they’re able to get out of bed, maneuver around, take a break, take a stroll, see a bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys with the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public places, as most of them would not be used from it. So, they may, if they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should still be some sort of formal wedding speech(es) after the meal…
