How weddings have changed within the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; a fairly easy wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do look forward to hearing them, speaking about them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, through the meal after your food, however it’s of the strong opinion that this wedding speeches needs to be delivered following the meal. I understand that for most wedding party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father of the father of the bride speech (the 5 main speakers), they’d would rather possess the wedding speeches prior to meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and how many (and indeed the wedding ceremony venue staff) would choose the marriage speeches to get delivered as soon as the meal for many reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and are not listening to wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which would be so ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches prior to the meal along with their might be a delay of Quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches become the transition in the meal towards the dancing (without a penny happening following the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared concerning the Bride & Groom then they do know they are able to get up, move about, come out, go for a walk, navigate to the bar…)
It can be difficult for parents in the Bride & Groom to communicate in public places, the majority of them would not be used of computer. So, they might, whenever they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should still be some type of formal speech(es) following your meal…
