How weddings have changed on the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight marriage ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of a wedding and guests do look ahead to hearing them, talking about them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, through the meal after your food, yet it is of an strong opinion how the wedding speeches must be delivered following your meal. I realize that for most wedding party speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will want to hold the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and how many of them (as wll as the wedding venue staff) would rather the marriage speeches being delivered after the meal for many reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which could be the case before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to the meal as well as their could be a delay of Fifteen minutes to 1.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches become the transition through the meal towards the dancing (without a penny happening following the meal, individuals are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared about the Bride & Groom and they understand they could wake up, move around, take a rest, take a stroll, visit the bar…)
It’s not easy for moms and dads of the Bride & Groom to talk in public, since most of them couldn’t survive used of computer. So, they may, whenever they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should be some kind of formal wedding speech(es) as soon as the meal…
