How weddings have changed over the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about the second, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of a marriage and guests do anticipate hearing them, discussing them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, in the meal after the meal, yet it is of your strong opinion that the wedding speeches must be delivered after the meal. I realize that for several bridal party speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will want to have the wedding speeches prior to the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and exactly how a lot of them (as wll as wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer wedding ceremony speeches to get delivered following the meal for several reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and aren’t hearing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which will be prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches prior to the meal in addition to their can be quite a delay of Quarter-hour to 1.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches act as the transition in the meal on the dancing (broke happening as soon as the meal, individuals are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared concerning the Bride & Groom and they do know they can get out of bed, move about, come out, go for a walk, go to the bar…)
It’s not easy for parents with the Bride & Groom to speak in public, since most of them wouldn’t be used of it. So, they could, if they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should always be some type of formal wedding speech(es) as soon as the meal…
