To start, it needs to be understood that in Counter-Strike: Source (CS), there are several different map types. These are:
Bomb Map (de). The Terrorist goal in a bomb map is to set you back a unique location (marked on your own map) and plant an explosive. The explosive is over a timer, so once it can be planted, you must defend it until detonation.
The counter-terrorist goal on bomb maps is to stop the terrorists from planting the bomb without exceptions. This can be done by eliminating every one of the terrorists, defusing the planted bomb, or (occasionally) defending the bomb site until time ends.
Hostage Rescue (cs). In hostage rescue maps, the key goal for counter-terrorists is to rescue hostages captured and held with the Terrorists. You may also win by reducing the terrorist team.
The Terrorist goal is usually to simply steer clear of the counter-terrorists from rescuing the hostages by reduction of them, or maintaining power over the hostages until time ends.
Bomb Maps – Counter-Terrorist. As being a counter-terrorist on bomb maps, the best choice (definitely) is usually to eliminate the terrorist team before they are able to plant the bomb. Defusing the bomb making you a sitting duck, which is a predicament you need to avoid. Keeping the terrorists trying to plant the bomb means you’re able to stay with the defensive, giving you an advantage.
Bomb Maps – Terrorist. As being a terrorist, your main goal would be to completely overrun a bomb site. If you can not take over a bomb site inside the first Thirty seconds, your team will likely lose the round. The best method is to rush everyone on a team apart from Several (tops) to a single site. The other few players will work as a distraction with the other site, therefore the counter-terrorists guarding it are not shipped in as re-enforcements.
Hostage Maps – Counter-Terrorist. I have found the top tactic to be spreading they out and attacking coming from all angles. Coordinate a simultaneous attack if at all possible, but be certain nobody just “runs in, guns blazing,” because that technique almost guarantees death in a hostage map.
If a person side of the attack seems to punch through and get within the area under Terrorist control, the remainder of the team should move to that area as a way to conserve the attack.
