From the third article from the series about the “miracle” and also the “mind,” we are going to bring kindness and unkindness in the discussion about specialness. Within a Course in Miracles (ACIM), kindness is owned by humility and learning and unkindness is to use arrogance and specialness. The miracle-minded obviously choose humility, learning and kindness which means they are going to eventually learn to forgive all specialness which is what maintains the separation from God. Belief in separation refers to everyone who is normally the one Son perceiving Himself separate as well as fragments. All unkindness comes from the anxiety in the mind when we repress our fear and guilt instead of forgiving our specialness desires. We blame and project it onto others who can be extremely a part of us in fact.

There’s two books by Kenneth Wapnick on, “The Healing Power Kindness.” Volume 1 is on, “Releasing Judgment” and Volume 2 on, “Forgiving Our Limitations.” In my view, these needs to be required reading and continuing study if you are a life threatening Course student. If you reserve the brilliant metaphysics of the Course in Miracles and its sophisticated psychological insights, this course may be pared down to one particular rule: Be kind. Regardless how brilliant knowing of the metaphysics could possibly be, discover being kind toward another individual, you aren’t doing what this product is asking (The Healing Energy Kindness, Vol.1: Releasing Judgment by Kenneth Wapnick, p. 10, underline mine).

In spite of this admonition, we insist upon being unkind:

This wherewithal to truly practice A Course in Miracles’ kind principles of forgiveness they study, and sometimes even teach, has perhaps been probably the most serious failing among its students. This book’s sequel, “Few Elect to Listen,” discusses how students often conceal their thought system of specialness underneath the guise of spiritual counseling or friendship. The lack of simple kindness is, unfortunately, unmistakable to everyone except this course student making the spiritual pronouncements (What it’s all about Of the Course in Miracles: Are all Called, p. 306).

The non-dualistic meaning of kindness can’t be understood here inside the example of dualism as long as specialness is continuously chosen as the ego emanates from an unkind thought against God and Heaven. Our unwillingness to recognize this concerning the ego, along with what everything thought product is capable of singing, is something that hinders our progress with all the Course. We have to be willing to look at the ego using the Holy Spirit – the real Teacher – and take that darkness to Him for forgiveness. Nothing might be hidden and that is straight from the Course.

Kindness To other people Is Kindness To Self

As part of his books on kindness, Mr. Wapnick also references the cause of your person’s unkind behavior is identical fear (and repressed guilt) that is certainly working in our personal mind and that is what unites us. These students choose to be described as a happy learner together with the only true teacher – the Holy Spirit – as opposed to a spiritually special teacher from the ego of all sorts. They are pleased to study Him how to be free of the burdens associated with denying the Truth:

Forgiveness’ kindness is obscure at first, because salvation is just not understood, nor truly sought for (S-2.I.1). And here you will set down the burden of denying truth. This is actually the burden that is terrible, instead of reality (T-21-VI.7).

Self versus “self” -or- Identity versus “identity”

In the Course, there exists a among the “Self” which is our true Identity as Christ along with the “self” identity using the ego. This can be a key point to comprehend because the first accepts the function God gave us through being God-created; though the latter is self-created and completely dependent upon the ego as well as function of vengeance tweaking separation. Everyone already believes these are ego. We may not be here otherwise. Our behaviors would be the type of which mind we’ve chosen (God or even the ego). The ego is often a vengeful and tyrannical thought system of unkindnesses whereas freedom as a result is tied straight away to kindness:

Without anxiety your head is wholly kind (T-6.III.3).
Freedom cannot be learned by tyranny of any sort (T-8.IV.7).

It is usually unkind to switch the program and spiritual specialness does that through competition with God and therefore everyone. One small change effectually changes the whole lot in the Course, an utter thought system. If you think maybe you understand that, you don’t. When Kindness Calls

“Love is frightening which is all-encompassing and inside there isn’t any room for specialness or individual uniqueness.”

He goes on to explain any time we are lured to call attention to our thoughts is some deficiency, or lack, we are planning to make such limitation real and into something which divides the Sonship. The rock of salvation is that no one can lose so another gains, i.e., there’s nothing to look at from another, not even their success.
