Remember when returning to school meant purchasing a few notebooks, a fresh box of crayons, and new shoes? If you wore a uniform to school, it is likely you got some of those too; otherwise, you have one or two new outfits. Which was it.

Well, times have changed. The provision list now contains goods that used to be supplied by the colleges – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child uses a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders plus a calculator. If you have two children so you shop the sales, you may still find yourself paying out greater than $100.00 in supplies alone. And that doesn’t even count the new clothes your youngster “has to have” or the fees which can be necessary for art projects, lab costs, etc.

Don’t even get me started on the supplies, including furniture and appliances, your child needs for college. Should it ever end?

Follow this advice to save cash paint this coming year.

1) Recycle – Confirm what you currently have at home. You almost certainly have assorted crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. available the home. Put these together in the pencil box and will save you a couple of bucks.

2) Re-use – Kids believe last year’s backpack needs to go, however a quick trip through the automatic washer can provide it new life.

3) Reduce – Does your kids have a notebook from recently that has three pages of written material inside it and 77 blank pages left? Would you find this notebook inside the recycle bin – or worse – the trash? Now could be fun to go over waste and keeping it low by letting the most use possible from every item.
